Free Eye Camp at Valencia Leisure Club

University of Lahore Hospital successfully organised a Free Eye Camp on 9 June 2026 at Valencia Leisure Club from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The initiative promoted eye health awareness, facilitated the early detection of ocular diseases, and provided essential vision care services to underserved community members. Led by Dr Aqsa Zahid, Consultant Ophthalmologist, alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, the camp delivered comprehensive eye screening, consultations, counselling, medications, and free eyeglasses to eligible patients.

Eye care specialists conducted vision assessments, ophthalmic examinations, and preventive counselling while referring complex cases to the University of Lahore Hospital for further management.

What We Learned

  • Early screening helps identify common eye conditions before they progress.
  • Refractive errors, cataracts, allergic eye disease, and dry eye syndrome were frequently observed.
  • Several patients showed signs of diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy requiring further evaluation.
  • Community-based eye care services improve access to timely diagnosis and treatment.
